(153) Two to tango: chemotherapy “speed-dating” for cannabidiol in lipid nanocapsules against glioblastoma
Introduction: Glioblastoma, the most aggressive brain tumor, has a median survival of 15 months despite surgical resection, radio- and chemotherapy [1], this highlights the need for new therapeutic approaches. Cannabidiol (CBD), has shown promise in cancer treatment by modulating pathways involved in tumor growth and metastasis, potentially enhancing the effectiveness of conventional chemotherapy [2]. Combining CBD with chemotherapy could imrpove treaement outcomes in glioma. This study aims to explore a novel glioblastoma therapy by co-encapsulating CBD with chemotherapy drugs in lipid nanocapsules (LNCs).
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participant will be able to evaluate in vitro effects of CBD+chemotherapeutic drugs
Upon completion, participant will be able to evaluate antitumor efficacy by using the HET-CAM model
Upon completion, participant will be able to develop co-loaded lipid nanocapsules
