Gene Delivery and Gene Editing (Focus Group - GDGE)
miRNAs are endogenous small noncoding RNAs that negatively regulate gene expression by interfering with the translation or stability of target transcripts. miRNA-based therapies may be developed as an alternative strategy to treat several diseases, including inflammatory diseases, antiviral therapies and cancer [1]. The development of drug delivery systems is critical for implementing miRNA-based therapeutics [2]. We applied the design of experiment (DoE) methodology and identified the critical process parameters to establish the composition of multi-miRNAs-loaded lipid nanoparticles.
