(210) Acoustic mRNA delivery via 19F MRI–trackable ultrasound-responsive nanodroplets

Introduction:

mRNA therapeutics have captured global attention, yet their application in cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) remains underexplored. A critical barrier lies in the development of advanced delivery systems capable of ensuring low immunogenicity and precise, targeted mRNA delivery [1]. To address this gap, we present an innovative theranostic platform using phase-change perfluorocarbon nanodroplets (PFC NDs), designed to integrate multimodal imaging (ultrasound or MRI), with acoustically triggered mRNA release for localised, enhanced transfection.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, participant will be able to design mRNA carriers that are ultraound responsive.
Upon completion, participant will be able to visual NDs on 19F MRI.
Upon completion, participant will be able to deliver mRNA specifically to site of disease
