(226) System of fluorescent nanogels functionalized with glucosamine capable of crossing the BBB
Introduction: There are natural dietary compounds with great therapeutic value and high pharmacological interest. However, many molecules have low bioavailability due to several factors such as poor water solubility, rapid metabolic degradation, UV light sensitivity, pH sensitivity, and temperature sensitivity [1-3]. To overcome these limitations, the development of nanogels (NG) has gained attention in recent years, as they allow controlled release at the desired site of action. Despite these significant advances in drug delivery systems, targeted delivery treatments to the brain remain a challenge [3].
Learning Objectives:
Develop an efficient drug delivery nanosystem targeted to the brain.
Evaluate the system's ability to cross the blood-brain barrier.
Assess the characterization techniques for the functionalized system.
