(282) Aggregation Behavior of Sodium Caprate: Insights from Coarse-Grained Simulations and SAS Techniques
Introduction: Therapeutics based on peptides show promise in the treatment of conditions such as diabetes, cancer, and irritable bowel syndrome. Their big size and hydrophilic nature, however, reduces there permeability, and make it difficult to achieve high oral bioavailability. For oral administration, co-formulation with fatty acid-based molecules (here sodium caprate, C10), can increase peptide permeability transiently, but this approach is associated with inter- and intra-individual variabilities that are unacceptably high [1].
Learning Objectives:
Combination of MD Simulations and SAS techniques to study sodium caprate (C10) aggregation behavior.
