(287) Inhalable TPGS/DPPC Micelles Co-Loaded with Curcumin and Icariin for Targeted Lung Cancer Therapy
Introduction: CUR and ICA have anti-cancer activity and has been used to treat a variety of tumours. Polymeric micelles measure between 10 and 100 nm in size with better bioavailability, biocompatibility, solubility of hydrophobic drugs. TPGS is an FDA-approved pharmaceutical excipient. DPPC as a pulmonary surfactant has been approved for inhalation.We hypothesize that TPGS/DPPC nano micelles can be formulated for nebulizer-based pulmonary delivery, exhibiting characteristics that promote efficient lung delivery, enhance cellular uptake by lung tissue and have competitive anti-cancer activity.
