(294) A biomimetic redox-responsive hybrid lipid polymer antibiotic-nanocarrier against bacterial sepsis
Introduction: Bacterial sepsis remains a global healthcare challenge, underscoring the need for innovative therapeutic strategies to improve management outcomes (1). This study aimed to develop a vancomycin (VCM)-loaded, redox-responsive, biomimetic hybrid lipid-polymer nanocarrier based on a novel stearic acid-chlorogenic acid conjugate (S-s-s-CG) and polyethyleneimine (PEI) as the polymer to achieve targeted delivery of VCM to the disease site and modulate the A Disintegrin And Metalloprotease 10 (ADAM10) receptor inflammatory pathway.
Learning Objectives:
Understand the development of a redox-responsive, biomimetic antibiotic nanocarrier against sepsis.
Assess the potential of the biomimetic nanocarrier to modulate the immune response during sepsis.
Understand the utilization of the sepsis microenvironment to target VCM delivery to disease sites.
