(325) Enhanced Solubility & Anti-Dilution Properties of Lipophilic Drugs with Solid Micellar Nanoparticles
Introduction: In drug development, the limited aqueous solubility of lipophilic compounds presents a significant challenge. Micellar solubilization is commonly used but often suffers from dissociation and instability upon dilution [1]. Solid micellar-size nanoparticles (SMNP) of Brij®76 offer enhanced stability and anti-dilution properties due to thermodynamic considerations [2] and temperature-dependence [3] of the SMNP in formulation. This project applies SMNPs as a platform to enhance the solubility of lipophilic compounds and evaluate their anti-dilution properties in drug-loaded formulations.
Learning Objectives:
To evaluate SMNP for enhancing lipophilic drug loading, solubility, and anti-dilution stability.
