(388) Multi-Functional Polymer Nanoparticles for Localized Fat Reduction
Introduction: Multi-functional polymer nanoparticles have been extensively investigated as advanced drug delivery systems due to their ability to enhance therapeutic efficacy while minimizing side effects. In this study, we hypothesized that modification of polymer nanoparticles with nona-arginine (R9) peptide could enhance adipocyte uptake and that gas generation from these nanoparticles could effectively induce adipocytolysis. We developed gas-generating polymer nanoparticles functionalized with R9 peptides and evaluated their adipocytolytic efficacy using a diet-induced obese mouse model.
Learning Objectives:
Prepare gas-generating nanoparticles and modify them with peptides.
Evaluate the adipocytolytic efficacy of gas-generating nanoparticles in vivo.
Design multi-functional polymeric nanoparticles for treating various diseases, including obesity.
