(447) Ticagrelor Amorphous Solid Dispersion tablets: formulation with Gelucire® 48/16
Introduction: Amorphous solid dispersion (ASD) is one strategy to address the issues of poorly soluble Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API). Surfactants can also improve the solubility but remain challenging to incorporate into tablets. Incorporation of a surfactant to a binary ASD (API and polymer) to develop a ternary ASD is an emerging trend (1) to further increase the solubility, while obtaining a tablet. In previous work (2), ternary ASD extrudates prepared by HME achieved asignificant increase of API dissolution. In this study, we formulated and tested tablets prepared from those extrudates.
