(493) Lidocaine and Pelubiprofen Eutectic Mixture for Enhanced Endodermal Delivery in Topical Formulations
Introduction: Lidocaine hydrochloride, a local anesthetic, and pelubiprofen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), are widely used for pain relief and inflammation management. Despite their efficacy, challenges in achieving rapid and sustained drug release in topical formulations persist. Eutectic mixtures have been explored as a strategy to enhance drug solubility, permeability, and bioavailability in liquid topical formulations.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to describe the formulation of eutectic mixtures.
Upon completion, participants will be able to explain the role of Tween 80 in drug delivery.
Upon completion, participants will be able to evaluate in vitro drug release for topical delivery.
