(437) CBD Niosomes as an Innovative Strategy for the Treatment of Retinal Degenerative Diseases

Introduction: Retinal disorders, including age-related macular degeneration, glaucomatous degeneration, and diabetic retinopathies, are major causes of blindness with no definitive cure. Current glaucoma treatments reduce intraocular pressure (IOP) but fail to address neurodegeneration. Cannabidiol (CBD) shows neuroprotective potential but faces solubility and permeability challenges. This study developed CBD-loaded niosomes for targeted ocular delivery to combat retinal ischemia and neurodegeneration.
