PET imaging for developing nanomedicine-based drug delivery systems

I will present the basic concepts of positron emission tomography (PET) imaging and its use for the efficient development of nanomedicine-based drug delivery systems. Using examples from my research group and others, I will highlight the pros and cons of this highly sensitive in vivo imaging technique, the chemistry required to radiolabel nanomedicines effectively, as well as new technical developments that are going to facilitate first in human PET imaging of nanomedicine drug delivery systems.
