Thermo-reactive In-situ forming Liposome Depot (TILD): From computational design to in-vivo efficacy

Introduction: Frequent drug administrations burden patients and caregivers, leading to poor adherence and suboptimal outcomes, particularly in geriatric, incapacitated, and veterinary populations.[1-2] In veterinary medicine, effective pain management often requires complex treatment schemes, causing distress for animals and strain for pet owners.[1] To address these challenges, we developed TILD, a temperature-triggered liposomal delivery system forming depots in the subcutaneous space. TILD enables sustained drug release over several days and significantly enhancing patient comfort and treatment efficacy.
Learning Objectives:
At the completion of this activity, participants will know
Understand the role of simulations in the development of liposomal drug delivery in the s.c. space
Implement robust in vivo methodologies for evaluating pain in animals
Master in-vitro/in-vivo characterization for liposomal drug delivery systems for s.c. administration
