Skin and Mucosal Delivery
Buccal drug delivery offers advantages over oral administration by bypassing the stomach and hepatic first-pass effect [1]. However, drug permeability across the mucosa can be challenging, mitigated by permeability enhancers like bile salts [2]. Nanoparticles show promise in enhancing bioavailability and prolonging circulation time [3]. This study focuses on developing bilosomes for buccal drug delivery, investigating their interaction with TR146 cells to understand their mechanism of action.
