Tech Session VI: Delivery Technologies for Diversified Products
Delivery systems for efficacy improvement of volatile herbicides
Thursday, July 17, 2025
5:46 PM – 5:57 PM EDT
Introduction: The development of biodegradable materials for crop delivery systems still remains a challenge. Clomazone is used in pre or postemergence aiming the control of weeds in several crops¹. This AI exhibits a considerable volatility². This work focuses on the development of a nanoemulsion for clomazone aiming the decrease of the AI volatilization. The system comprised an oil phase containing clomazone, resulting in a nanoemulsion containing more than 20% of AI. Formulation was submitted to stability studies as well as to a volatilization protocol for comparison with commercial product.
Learning Objectives:
At the completion of this activity, participants will know
To develop novel delivery systems for reduction of volatilization
Improve knowledge of delivery systems applied to crop care
