Peptides (Exenatide) in Lipid-Based Formulations for the Gut

* Oral delivery of GLP-1 RAs is limited by enzymatic degradation and poor absorption. We aimed to improve bioavailability using a multi-component formulation strategy.

* We combined Hydrophobic Ion Pairing, Lipid-Based Formulations with permeation enhancers, and innovative bilayer enteric capsules to protect and deliver Exenatide effectively.

* The approach protected the drug against enzymatic degradation and enabled targeted release in medium mimicking the intestinal region—showing promise for oral peptide delivery.
