Klazina Kooiman received the M.Sc. degree (cum laude) in biopharmaceutical sciences from Leiden University, the Netherlands, in 2000, and the PhD degree in ultrasound contrast agents for therapy from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in 2011 (start 2005). She is Associate Professor and Head of the Therapeutic Ultrasound Contrast Agent Group, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Erasmus MC, focusing on using ultrasound contrast agents for drug delivery and ultrasound molecular imaging. She is Co-Director of the Annual European Symposium on Ultrasound Contrast Imaging, Rotterdam, and elected board member of the International Society of Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU).
