Bárbara Carreira concluded her PhD in 2023 and is currently a Postdoc Researcher at the Faculty of Pharmacy - University of Lisboa. Bárbara developed her PhD studies in the development of a cancer nanovaccine able to modulate brain immunity to prevent melanoma brain metastasis. In 2024, Bárbara started a Post-Doctoral position in a LaCaixa-funded international consortium (MultiNano@BBM, LCF/PR/HR22-00702, 1M€) on breast brain metastases nano-immunotherapy field, involving iMe.dULisboa (Lisboa, Portugal) and Tel Aviv University (Tel Aviv, Israel). Her research interests are centered on the development of nanotechnology platforms to modulate brain-immune microenvironment to prevent and treat brain metastases.
