Dr Octavio Fandino completed his Pharmacy degree and a PhD in Chemical Sciences with a focus on the solid-state characterisation of pharmaceuticals at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences, National University of Córdoba, Argentina. He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Pharmacy, Queen’s University Belfast. His research focuses on the development of microneedles for transdermal drug delivery and the design and characterisation of pharmaceutical cocrystals to enhance physicochemical properties for such applications. He is also proudly a member of the LGBTQI+ community and actively contributes to the CRS Global Member Engagement Committee.
