Dr. Abhinav Acharya is The Elmer Lindseth Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, where he is also a member of the Cancer Imaging Program at the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. His research expertise spans immune engineering, immunometabolism, drug delivery, and biomaterials.
Dr. Acharya earned his PhD and master's degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Florida, and his bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology in India. His early research focused on developing novel biomaterials for immunotherapies, particularly in modulating dendritic cells. His work has led to numerous publications and patents in the fields of biomaterials and immunotherapies.
At Case Western Reserve University, Dr. Acharya is dedicated to advancing the fields of immunoengineering and immunometabolism. His lab is pioneering innovative treatments for chronic inflammatory conditions, autoimmune diseases, and cancer by developing novel immunotherapies. He is also passionate about mentoring the next generation of scientists and engineers, fostering collaboration between engineering and medical disciplines.
