Gaurav Sahay, Ph.D. is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences and co-Director of the Center for Innovative Drug Delivery and Imaging (CIDDI) at Oregon State University. His lab develops lipid-based nanoparticles for delivering mRNA and gene editors to treat diseases such as cystic fibrosis, retinal degeneration, and viral infections. He has led pioneering work on intracellular delivery mechanisms and overcoming endosomal barriers. Dr. Sahay is Principal Investigator on several NIH- and industry-funded projects and leads a DARPA program (TALARIA) developing mRNA-based countermeasures for radiation and infectious disease. He has published over 75 peer-reviewed papers in Nature Biotechnology, Nature Nanotechnology, Science Advances, and others. He is a recipient of awards from AAPS, CRS, AACP, and OHSU, and is co-founder of Enterx Bio and RNAvax Bio. He completed postdoctoral training at MIT with Robert Langer and Daniel Anderson.
