Dr. Nathalie M. Pinkerton is an assistant professor in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at NYU Tandon. She leads a research lab developing nanomaterials for the treatment of cancer and chronic pain, with a focus on NIR light-responsive nanoparticles, non-addictive pain therapies, and scalable methods for nanoparticle manufacturing. Dr. Pinkerton earned her B.S. from MIT, Ph.D. from Princeton, and completed a postdoc at CNRS-ITAV in France. Before NYU, she was a senior scientist at Pfizer’s Early Discovery Oncology Unit. She is a recipient of several awards including the NYU Goddard Fellowship and the 2025 NEBEC Emerging Investigator Award. Her research is supported by the NIH and DoD.
