Stefano Salmaso is full professor since 2017 at the Department of Pharmaceutical and Pharmacological Sciences of the University of Padova where he teaches Technology of delivery and controlled release of drugs. His research is supported by public bodies, Italian Foundations and biopharma companies. Since 2023 he serves as President of the CRS Italy Chapter and coordinate the activities of about 200 chapter members with one workshop per year, about 10 webinar, and a new hub for accademia/industry cooperation.
He is editorial board member of Journal Controlled Release, Drug Delivery.
His main research interest are on nanomedicines, responsive delivery systems, smart lipid based carriers for delivery of biotech drugs (peptides and RNA) and biobarrier overcoming, development of metallic drug nanocarriers for remote activation.
