José das Neves holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Porto (2013) and is an assistant researcher at the Institute for Research and Innovation in Health from the same university since 2019. His work focuses mainly on drug delivery and nanomedicine, particularly for developing new solutions for the treatment and prevention of lower female genital tract diseases and sexually transmitted infections. He is co-author of 127 peer-reviewed articles and 90 conference presentations, and co-editor of 5 scientific books.
