Joe Kakkassery is a biopharma R&D Innovation executive with 20+ years of experience in Johnson & Johnson, Janssen, Halozyme, and several startup companies in the neuro-oncology, neuro-degenerative, metabolic, ophthalmology and rare diseases space. Joe earned his PhD in Physical Chemistry from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne where he researched nanoparticles at biomolecular interfaces. Joe is a receipient of Swiss National Science Foundation Fellowship award and completed his post-doctoral training in bionanotechnology at Prof. Chad Mirkin's Group, Northwestern University, IL. During his tenure at Johnson & Johnson, Joe has worked on the development and commercial launch of world's first drug delivering contact lenses for ocular diseases. At Halozyme Inc, Joe focuses on Search and Evaluation of innovative drug delivery platforms for development, licensing or acquisition.
