Luigia has a PhD in Chemical Sciences and extensive experience as an industry-based researcher. She also co-founded a start-up in the digital health field and she is a co-inventor of two patents. Currently, she is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellow in the group of Prof. Santos in UMCG, focusing on the development of multi-engineered SeNPs for gene therapy of BRAF-mutated melanoma.
