Paarkavi Udayakumar has a background in biotechnology from the school of bioengineering at SRM IST in India. She holds an MSc in Drug Discovery and Development from Uppsala University. During her MSc thesis and research assistantship at the TelekiLab, she worked on the development of an advanced vaginal drug delivery system. Her current work now as a PhD student focuses on microneedle based vaginal drug delivery system for the treatment of vaginal diseases. The aim is to attain a sustained release of the drug using lipid based nanocarriers packed into the mucopenetrative microneedles.
