Maria Kavallaris is Professor and Founding Director of the Australian Centre for NanoMedicine at UNSW Sydney and Head of Translational Cancer NanoMedicine at the Children’s Cancer Institute. Her interdisciplinary work at the intersection of medicine, science, and engineering has advanced cancer therapeutics and devices. She has received numerous awards, including the 2017 NSW Premier’s Award, 2019 Lemberg Medal, and 2021 ANSTO Eureka Prize. Maria is a Fellow of several prestigious societies, including AAHMS and AIMBE, and was appointed a Member (AM) of the Order of Australia in 2019. She was NSW Woman of the Year in 2020 and received Cyprus’s Presidential Medal in 2022.
