Introduction: Waste silk sericin holds immense unexploited potential for developing novel drug delivery systems, making it a valuable resource in promoting a green economy [1,2]. This project aims to create an innovative biopolymer by conjugating sericin with hyaluronic acid, a polysaccharide widely used in biomedical applications, through Michael Addition, a sustainable green chemistry reaction [3]. By valorizing byproducts of the silk industry, this eco-friendly biomaterial supports waste reduction while offering groundbreaking possibilities for sustainable, advanced drug delivery system formulations.
