Tech Session III: Nanomedicine and Nanoscale Delivery (Bioengineering)
Delivery of nanoparticulate vaccines by microneedle patch
Wednesday, July 16, 2025
10:04 AM - 10:29 AM EDT
Location: 120 B/C
This talk will address the delivery of nanoparticulate vaccines by microneedle patch, which can offer improved immune responses due to targeting vaccine delivery to the skin and facilitate vaccination logistics by providing a simple-to-administer, painless vaccination method that generates no biohazardous sharps waste and is often thermostable. We will focus on HPV virus-like particle (VLP), mRNA-containing lipid nanoparticle (LNP), and live measles and rubella virus vaccines, including their formulation and fabrication for microneedle patch delivery, as well as their safety, delivery, and immunogenicity in pre-clinical and human clinical studies.
