(486) Dissolving Microneedle Patch for Localized Photodynamic Therapy in Oral Carcinoma
Introduction: Photodynamic therapy (PDT) offers a minimally invasive alternative to existing cancer therapies. However, photosensitizers (PS) are limited by poor stability, skin photosensitivity, low emissive properties, and complex synthesis. Aza-BODIPY derivatives, such as AZP 10, show improved photostability and tunable properties. Dissolvable dual-length microneedles (DMNs) present a promising approach, enabling localized delivery of AZP 10 at varying tissue depths, minimizing systemic exposure, and enhancing PDT efficacy. This study investigates AZP 10-loaded DMNs for targeted oral cancer treatment.
